Mary Jo Foley van Ziff Davis bevestigt wat iedereen al dacht: Windows Longhorn zal onder de naam WIndows Server 2008 op de markt gaan komen.

Om haar nieuwe Viridian virtualisatiesoftware op tijd af te krijgen heeft Microsoft besloten een aantal features te schrappen. Het is de bedoeling dat Viridian binnen 180 dagen na de lancering van Longhorn (Windows Server 2008) uit gaat komen. Zo gaat de Vmotion-achtige tool om actieve virtuele servers te verplaatsen vervallen.

De security mannen van Microsoft kondigen aan op hun TechNet blog dat in juni de vooraankondigingen zullen gaan veranderen. Daarnaast zal ook de layout van de werkelijke security bulletins veranderen.
In de vooraankondiging zal meer informatie staan en de bulletins zullen beter leesbaar worden.

Free Windows PowerShell book  Frank Koch Technology Advisor Microsoft Schweiz, did release an English version of the PowerShell book he released in German some time ago.
