Er is opnieuw een lek gevonden in de Enterprise Server software van Blackberry. Het lek blijkt misbruikt te kunnen worden door een misvormd word-document te sturen.
Als oplossing wordt aangeraden een update van BlackBerry te installeren.

Amit Zinman beschrijft hoe Excel als intermediair gebruikt kan worden voor het aanmaken van mailboxen en gebruikers. Dit als alternatief naast andere tools en VB-scripts.
In previous articles we discussed tools that create users and their mailboxes in Active Directory. LDIFDE has been mentioned and also VBScripts. However, the most powerful and flexible tool in my opinion is Excel. Excel can read information from various formats and can serve as a handy intermediary. You can manipulate the information in Excel as you find necessary before exporting it to Active Directory. A lot of data originates from Excel which is a common place for large tables. You can also combine data from a few sources into Excel.

Overview
From a central location, administrators can run the Office Update Inventory Tool on client computers to find out which Office updates have been applied, which Office updates are available to be applied, and which Office updates can be applied only to an administrative installation point.

Overview
This ISO-9660 CD image file contains all security and critical updates for Windows released on Windows Update on February 14th, 2006. This does not contain security updates for other Microsoft products. This CD image is intended for corporate administrators who manage large multinational organizations, who need to download multiple individual language versions of each security update, and who do not use an automated solution such as WSUS. Use this image to download multiple updates in all languages at the same time.
Caution: Be sure to check the individual security bulletins at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security prior to deployment of these updates to ensure that the files have not been updated at a later date.

Jesper Johanson, een security program manager van Microsoft, heeft een artikel geschreven over het Administrator account en wat je ermee zou moeten doen. Veel bedrijven zetten bijvoorbeeld een idientiek password op alle servers. Dat is een groot risico en zou absoluut vermeden moeten worden. Hij geeft een aantal tips maar de belangrijkste is "disablen van account". Zelfs als je het account weer nodig hebt voor de recovery console of safe mode, dan is het account ineens weer enabled.

Henrik Walther bespreekt de nieuwe MAPI access features van SP2 voor Exchange 2003. Met deze nieuwe feature is het mogelijk om MAPI toegang per user te regelen.
